The BBC may be an excellent news site, but when it comes to tech news, I rather read them from specialist tech news websites, mainstream news sites, including the BBC/CNN/etc, tend to give ambigous information as well as using confusing wrong terms. Your quote is a good example of their bullshit.

You are correct, if the browser runs in RAM you don't need to erase anything. They are explaining it wrong.

Today I read about some vulnerabilities in Private browsing mode, I withdraw my previous advice.
