I knew it was a mistake to rant about government here. I should be more mature now than to shoot off my mouth, exercise my frustration, preach to the choir. The idea of men in blue (which for me means local uniforms, not federal "suits") invading our little board and trying to see evil and subversion among us... it makes me see red. My comments were directed to them (I had not realized before that "they" monitored what was said here). It never occurred to me that those of you here would be defensive about government's invasion of our tech discussion space. I would have assumed that everyone would have been upset by a government's intervention (any government). If this board was hosted in Britain, I would have criticized that government. I do not defend the actions of most of the US government, certainly not in the realm of censorship, suppression of information, or restrictions of technical topics merely because of the political/morality positions of the speakers. Educating people about technical topics is what this place is all about. For what it's worth, I agree about the state of the public schools in the US. Is that relevant? After all this time knowing Somersault, I would not ever attack him or his decisions publicly or privately, to him or to anyone else. It saddens me to realize that time changes things. I was wrong in making my personal frustration vocal on a tech forum. I am sorry. |
