The changed interface (lost features?) started with Opera 10.51. The earlier 10.10 still has the same interface as Opera 9.64 did. While I had no trouble "upgrading" from 10.51 back to 10.10, that assumes that you have a copy of the 10.10 install still available. In fact, 10.10 and most other older versions are available on the Opera site, so just go d/l 10.10, install it, and you'll be back to the "old" interface with no trouble. Then go to Tools/Preferences/Advanced/Security and set the pulldown to "Do not check for new versions" or it will bug the hell out of you on a daily basis. You can just follow your nose on the Opera site, or go to the page linked below. Oh, and the reason for the "lost" features is simple: it's Microsoft. If you look at a recent version of Internet Explorer you'll see that it also has a "simplified" user interface (the assumption being that internet users are terminally stupid) so if you're going to compete you have to do it "their" way or lose most of your potential new users. Just to cheer you up, an upcoming version of Firefox will also "lose" the traditional interface and go to the simple and stupid one, so you're gefucked no matter what you like.
