I have used TrueCrypt to encrypt my entire Windows 7 boot disk and it have so far worked very well. If the disk has been used already or not should not have any effect on the encryption. I must say that I have not noticed any significant slowdown. It may be somewhat affected by the CPU speed as well as the amount of memory you have available in your computer. "Thirdly, why did I read somewhere that Truecrypt is not suitable for the whole system encryption?" I remember reading something about that as well, but I can not remember the reason for it. I have also read other articles that say that it is no problems with using TrueCrypt for full system encryption. As I said, I have not had any problems with such a setup. KRB ![]() |
