When I grew up, oh so many years ago, my parents bought a set of childrens books. It was a set of 12 volumes, esentially each volume was intended for a specific age.

I remember my mother sitting by my bed, at bedtime, reading a story out of one of the books. I was always happy to hear my mother read from the books, she had a great way of reading.

As I got older I read from the books myself, mostly from the volumes for the older children.

I lost those books some 25 years ago, during one of my moves. Too bad, the books were in very good condition and would be worth quite a bit today.

Of course, those books are out of print since many years. Besides, how many mothers or fathers would sit and read from a book for their sons or daugters today, when they just as well can put in a childrens story DVD in the player and have their children watch that while the parents does something else. After all, TV and DVD has become a 'great' baby sitter.

Makes me wonder what the next decade of generations will be like.

Well, that is a good question, sometimes I wonder if I want to know :-)
