... that expresion existed in English as well. It was an expresion that my dad used a lot when I asked things I probably shouldn't have asked or when I did things I definitely should not have done.

As for your (and Tigers) question, I don't have a good answer, the only think I can think of is 'to find out who is mostly full of ....' but I don't think that is a good answer to Tiger.
