goddam flaky dads

The dates had been set, the meeting was set, and at the last minute, Dad is trying to back out. The boys are disappointed, to put it mildly. But they will make the road trip anyway. It seems that last night, they called dad and dad balked, said hhe wasn't sure if he would be able to make it, offered lame excuses. jericho got off the phone, made a few calls, and arranged transport for dad, saying that was dad's excuse. Dad agreed to meet them, and told them to call today. boys have been trying to call him all day. he doesn't pick up. But they will make the trip anyway. See, a friend of mine who was going to visit anyway was set to meet the boys in vegas, and follow them back to me, a sort of safety precaution, since the boys are traveling in MY car. The friend is already in vegas, we just got off the phone with him. Both boys have chatted with him in LL(back when they could) as well as on messenger. They like the guy, and he seems to like them. Anyway, i told the boys, "it's a good thing that *I* don't have your father's telephone number, because he would get an earful from me". You know, after 12-13 years, you would think a guy would be at least curious about his own sons. I guess it would take a man to face them, so it's prolly better he doesn't.
