I'm in a very difficult situation.

I can't talk about the details here, but this is a situation that's arisen online, rather than in "real life". I've been put in a position where I'm almost certain to lose one or more friends. It concerns a conflict amongst friends. If I take sides, I'm certain to lose friends on the other side. If I don't take sides, I'll be letting down at least one side and will lose friends there. It's a no-win situation for me. I could take the side of the majority; that way I'd lose fewer friends. Unfortunately, my conscience wants me to take the other side. Do I go with expediency and abandon one side? Or do I go with my conscience and lean the other way? Right now the only way I can see to preserve my honour is to withdraw completely by going offline and shutting down all Somersault related pages. The trouble is, that would hurt others who aren't involved in the original dispute at all. I honestly don't know what to do. Please, if you DO know what I'm talking about, don't broadcast it (or even give revealing hints) here. Email would be much more appropriate in such a case.
