Guess where I've been for the last 17 days :-) Took a vacation from retirement and seen some more of this world we live in. Oh, did I mention that there were boys all over the place? Spent 8 days in a very large city, then went to a slightly smaller city and spent 3 days there, then back to the large city to finish up the 17 day expedition. The smaller city was like going back to my youth days when boys would be out and about at night playing without care in the world. Took loads of pics, 1079 to be exact...and nope, not one of them of boys since I didn't speak the language to ask for their permission....but lots of mountians, very old buildings, mountians, musicians, and still more mountians. Did lots of walking too...funny thing about that, weighed myself when I got back home and didn't loose a single pound...go figure....but I feel great :-) Speaking of home...those self-feeders I bought for my fish tanks worked great..all fish are still there :-) A friend from work checked every day to see if anyone tampered with any windows or doors.....and just as I thought, my one and only brother-in-law came by and kept the grass cut to give the place that 'lived-in-look' without me even asking him to do that......seems that I have a heap of thanking to do over the next day or two. There was only one misadventure...when I got back to my home country I found that my seat on the plane I was transfereing to was gone......they said that I got there to late, but I was there 15 minutes before the departure time, and my seat was confirmed....spent the whole night in the airport staring at walls till a family came and sat across from me ....even large airports get deserted after the midnight hour it seems....but today I got to the gate three hours before the departure time, and guess what......they let us board the plane at 8 AM and at 8:15AM we were on our way...yeah, like last night I was too late because I was there 15 minutes to departure instead of 30 minutes but today they chose 15 minutes to be sufficient...go figure...lol Well, I better get some sleep to make up for that whole night awake.....gonna probably dream of that boy and his sister playing cards on the floor across from me in a very desereted airport :-) Love,Luck,&Laughter,Always; fidia |
