..back online for today, the missus is out visiting her father, with Granny & Rattata. So heres what's happened in the last few days. Saturday - You know sometimes you get these kids that speak to everyone & anyone, well one visited today, with his mum. I was putting stock out & he reads my name badge & says "Fox", "hello" I replied & they walked on. Later in the evening he's back again, with his mum "Hello" he says without a care in the world. In between all that, the manager asked me to help a lady home with 4 bags of heavy shopping & 3 kids, 2 boys around 8yo & a girl 3yo on reigns. During the walk we briefly talked, the girl kept dropping to the ground every 3 steps, making things difficult for her mum, who still had two bags of shopping to carry. I had the other two, the boys ran on ahead. It turned out that she'd been abandoned by her 2nd husband, just a year ago, she didn't drive & had to struggle to bring up three kids on her own. I think if my partner hadn't been down, I would've got to know her & the kids better during my spare time. In the evening a young 10yo blonde comes in with his mum, we have a lengthy short chat together, we share a similar taste in music (but he's into Slipknot). I mention other bands I'm into, Linkin Park & he says "great, they're my favorite band. I'll see you tomorrow when I get my paper." "I'm not working til tomorrow night", I reply "Thats okay he says I'll see you then. He's back a minute later with his mum, as they've spotted a Magazine with a free Heavy Metal CD. We talk again & he says that one of the bands has the lead singer of Slipknot playing for them, so he had to get it. His mum's quite happy & says that she does like some of the music he listens to. They're also staying down for 14 nights! Sunday - Didn't see the blonde kid today, but I did see the rascals from the other night, with the mum over the last 3 days, but didn't speak to her, I did speak to one of the boys briefly, due to the following circumstances. His mum had left the shop & he was getting something from one of those toy machines. He put this watch (won earlier) on the ground got his item & left the shop. I went into the back about 3 mins later to find that my Supervisor had picked up the watch. So I identified it. No sooner than I had left the storeroom, the kid was in looking for his watch, so I said it had been found & he followed me to the storeroom & I gave it back to him. Also have to tell you that while out with my partner & Rattata, there was a great looking 16yo blonde in burger bar, wearing nothing but Bermuda shorts & flip-flops, ahh, he was sooooo fit. Monday - Nothing much to report, except that Rattata informed me that the boy he had knocked-out during a fight with at school (after 3 years of bullying from him), was actually being physically abused at home. He said that he once jokingly threatened to hit him with a belt, but the kid said don't & showed him the belt & buckle marks burried into his back. This got me thinking about the situation I wrote about a few months ago (I will provide a link as a reply to this post) & I admit that I felt sorry for his tormentor, cause Tyrogue went through a similar phase & I was able to help him out. Maybe, Rattata could introduce me to this kid, maybe just for a chat. But only God can decide in that matter, if it is safe to do so. I'll leave you with those thoughts & hope to be back online Saturday! Best regards MF72 |
