Well I out did myself today at the gym! Buoyed by the loss of 4 pounds that I somehow gained last Saturday and impressed that my slacks that were almost too tight are now embarrassing loose, I embarked on a strenuous workout guaranteed to make me fitter. Realizing that my pecs are starting to shape up through all that swimming, I made today the day I start working on that way too big caboose and the legs that carry it. For the first time in my life, I walked a treadmill. I started at a snail’s pace of 1 mile per hour but by the time I finished a half hour or 175 calories burnt off later, I was at close to 3 miles per hour. Not impressive to most of those using the gym but I was pleased considering how slow I was at the start. Gosh, in High School I ran cross-country and this many years later, I am a slowpoke on a treadmill. After resting from the treadmill, I managed to put two sets of five laps in the pool and then braked. Coming back, I did 10 without a break. Then after the lifeguard said a mile was 32 lap, I did 4 more to make my day an even 2/3 of a mile. Considering how bad I was when I started a little while ago, I am impressed. The best visible result is in my pecs. They are shaping up real nice, but I was always partial to them. When I was younger, they were freaking hot! I am also impressed with the waistline. Though much too big, I discovered today that a belt my dad bought for me while I was hospitalized and that I had to buckle at the last notch now has to be buckled at the first notch. Yikes. My waist is tiny bit smaller, at least I am not 12 months preggers any more. The boy that caught my eye was in the locker room the same time as me. I was impressed with the dangle in his dangler, albeit was a brief look. Funny thing, the manager of the facility let about a half dozen inner city kids in the pool, as it is hot! As I was showering I couldn’t help noticed they were all looking at moi. Yikes, why does my thang have to be so tiny when sleeping? I felt like saying to the kids, hey guys, when it gets hard, it is much more impressive. I remember my fascination the first time I showered with a black kids. I was surprised by the way the water shined on his flesh and the size of his dangler. Well, I hope I am not boring you with my tales of athletics. The time I am spending at the gym is making a world of difference in me. Plus for the first time I am taking all the medications prescribed. The disadvantage of them is that I forget so much but on the plus side, I also forget to eat and I forget I am tired. These medications give me endurance. Well, I got to call it quits. I forget to take my 4 pm meds. But I would like to thank Som for providing this board and would like to ask him to join us posters. He is a brilliant writer. Well after I swallow 9 pills, I will respond to the others. PS: Blues, got your email, I will be writing right quick. We have something in common, in case you didn’t know. |
