The incident with him shoplifting has been resolved and is in fact what lead to his chores for which he doesn't earn cash exactly, he earns cash credit. He has to repay me the amount that I anonymously sent to the store first and then he can begin earning towards the boom box he wants so much. Zak is very happy with our system and is also very proud to have chores "like a normal kid". Yesterday morning Zak forgot he had promised to do some yard work so I did it later in the day when he was out playing with friends. Zak was upset at himself a little bit when he came back home (he calls my place home now even if it really isn't) because that means it will take him longer to earn towards his goals. I remind him once about chores and that is all. If he does not remember to do them, I do. |
