Hello to Blues + another pool story

A big hello to Blues, he is a wonderful writer. He might remember me as Sheesh! How is Cherub?

There is nothing more relaxing for me than a swimming pool, especially an indoor pool. I love the fresh clean smell of chlorine and the damp air.

One of my earliest memories is of me, just before my 3rd birthday, in a pool. I have such vivid recollection of swimming in it and how deep it was. Funny, I mentioned it to my father and he found a picture of me in it. Things look big when you are small; it was merely a big wading pool. Yikes!

The next summer our community built a pool with the help of all the men in the neighborhood. I remember that pool as being huge and deep but another picture proved that it was a matter of perspective.

Wherever my family lived, mom joined the swim club. With as many sons as she had and so close in age, the pool was probably the only option to keep her sanity during the summer. Well I do recall she encouraged us to read.

Those summers were spent at the swim club until the heat of the August summers made a month’s vacation in Maine, a real necessity. Who had air-conditioning back then?

Once we moved from one town to the other, a distance of merely a mile. My mother insisted that we stay with the first town’s club. She rightly claimed that our new town’s pool was smaller. Well being boys we wanted to swim with our school friends and eventually she relented. You know what, that club sucked. The pool was half the size of the old pool and was crowded. Since we were vagabonds, we moved to another state and the new club was the best.

I remember being 14 and a kid I had a crush on, complemented me on my swimsuit. Guys, I know I look hot in it. It was dark blue with a white stripe and made from some sort of tight material, this was in the days before Speedos. Heck I was skinny and well toned, I ran cross-country back then.

After a day of swimming, I enjoyed the showers. Nothing breaks the ice between two teens as showering naked does.

Ass I posted earlier, I just started swimming again. Gosh it is so addictive, the warm water soothing your body, the sense of near weightlessness as you swim. I love swimming so much. Now if I could I=only fir in that suit again.

Hey guys, how about sharing your swimming stories? I love to hear them.
